Daligash, formally the Republic of Daligash, is a large country in the south-central part of the former Omban Empire, and is the largest and economically most powerful of the Omban successor states. It is bordered by Lake Bunduga and the Khurorgos Mountains on the north. Its neighbours are Choradan (to the west), Malfan (to the south) Omba (to the northeast), and Taizi and Khutu (to the north). Its population is around 3,000,000 in total.

After the fall of the Empire in 338 IE, Daligash became an independent monarchy. However, the old Kingdom of Daligash that succeeded the Empire has long since gone extinct, and in general, the power of the noble lineages has waned and wealth, however earned, is the source of political authority. Wealthy citizens buy their way into elected senatorial positions affiliating with one of two great factions, the Bronze and Ruby, and decisions are made by Senate councils consisting of these plutocrats of various genders and social classes. The Senate currently has 174 members, although that number fluctuates over time. There is still a nobility but it has no legal privileges, although some of the noble lineages are still quite wealthy. Membership in the Bronze and Ruby factions is in principle an individual decision, although there is a social expectation that one will follow one's lineage, and cross-faction marriages are controversial when its members are wealthy or politically significant.

Daligash is an increasingly urban society and the two largest Omban cities, Lunduso and Zhuru, are both in Daligash along the south shore of Lake Bunduga. The cities support and are supplied by vast farms and ranches that provide food for hundreds of thousands, allowing for a strong military. The cities of Daligash are known to be places where corpseborn are allowed, perhaps even encouraged, to blend in with other humans, and where strict rank and status have less meaning than elsewhere. The Hulti are generally not tolerated, however,

Daligash has frequently had conflicts with Choradan to the west over boundary disputes, and with Malfan to the south over herding and agricultural rights. During the Bone War of 727-730, Daligash supplied and allied itself with Sharai over Omba, which the great former capital has certainly not forgotten.
