Kingdom of Daligash
The Kingdom of Daligash was a state that existed from the end of the Omban Empire in 338 IE until the dissolution of the monarchy in 488 IE. It was a hereditary monarchy with rigid male primogeniture, with its capital in Balbaizu, around twenty miles along the coast of Lake Bunduga from Lunduso. Balbaizu was essentially a royal court town, occupied by the king, courtiers, and various staff. The Daligashi monarchs emerged from the chaos of the end of the Empire as one lineage, the Dosura, took power. Throughout the fourth century, Daligash became much more centred on its growing urban centres and on trade routes, which made the kingdom wealthy. By the fifth century, however, wealthy urban merchants, especially in the cities, had acquired considerable political power. The rise of the Bronze and Ruby factions in the mid-fifth century was a direct consequence of this power structure. In 488 IE, the last Daligashi monarch to be recognized as a monarch, Ghevos Dosura, was forced to relinquish his power to the newly formed Senate. The Dosura and other noble lineages with whom they intermarried continued to recognize and use the title of King of Daligash for some time thereafter, but without any meaning. There is no recognized King of Daligash today, even nominally.
