The Blue Storm
The Blue Storm is the name given to a set of incursions and raids lasting from 691 to 694 IE, in which raiders from the Luetkan islands attacked and pillaged northern Khutu. There had been sporadic attacks over the years, especially since the end of the Empire, but this marked the first concerted episode. Led by the admiral Aathuvansi Leu, these attacks targeted villages and towns with good harbors, which then served as the basis for further attacks. Initially reluctant to commit ships to the defense of the coast, Eluli Ula turned his attention to the problem in 692 after the razing of the town of Zhukharos and its ancient temples. By 694 Aathuvansi had been defeated and forced to retreat. Numerous prisoners of war were taken at that time and forcibly moved to southern Khutu to work as labourers, where some of them retain their language and culture to the present day.
