Jegurarnathi
The Jegurarnathi are a caste-based society of matrilineal tribes numbering around 50,000 on the southern fringes of Omba just outside the edges of the former Omban Empire. They are generally believed to be closely related to the Jegrude, who were generally encapsulated in Omban society, and more distantly to the Umnakans. The Jegurarnathi nature-priest-warrior caste is esteemed above all others, and while political leadership is distributed among various castes in a complex hierarchy, leadership is generally vested in older women in conjunction with their brothers. In 751, a group of Jegurarnathi tribes undertook a serious incursion into southern Omba, taking over considerable territory south of the city of Vingu. This marked the first time that the southern borders of Omba had been seriously contested in over seven hundred years.
