Eluli's Slumber
Eluli's Slumber is the name given to a period in Khutuan history from 437 to 441 IE, during which Eluli Ula was essentially silent and inactive. It is unknown what inspired Eluli to stop responding, or indeed, when precisely it began, because His conduits at the time recognized that it would be politically unwise to do so. While it is absolutely common for saints to have brief periods of relative dormancy, the length of the slumber coupled with Eluli's importance made it highly politically charged. By 439, it was clear at least within Khutu that Eluli was not directing the activities of state policy Himself, and at this time, the Khutuan invasion of Luetka took place. It is also not clear what caused Eluli to resume acting in 441, but He re-assumed full power at that time with no further interruptions to the present.
