Jinto (Enskrai: Jinu) is the largest city and nominal capital of the independent country of Umnaka, located in the northern part of the country along the great Kyrjimo River that flows south through the country. It has around 18,000 residents, but its population expands massively when herders come to conduct business semiannually here. Jinto is the only part of Umnaka where Ombesh is spoken regularly, along with Enskrai. Its architecture blends classic Omban styles with great square brick buildings, the local style of temples and permanent buildings. Jinto began to take its present form during the Nonduru dynasty, when the conquest of Umnaka in 290-291 brought Jinto and neighbouring areas under Omban control. After the end of the Empire, Jinto's culture developed as a syncretic blend of Omban and Umnakan traditions.
