Purpose

A template can be used to quickly insert the same block text into multiple articles. For example, for all characters played by me, I could add a {{balthcat}} template to automatically add Player: [[User:BalthCat|BalthCat]] to the article..

I have created a number of templates to automatically mark articles as stubs. I have further created templates to mark articles as belonging to particular games, or to mark PCs and games, etc. Below is a list of those templates.

All templates

The current location of the list of all templates is here, while we are hosted at centos.tfenet.com

General Use

  • game: Games
  • pc: Characters
  • npc: NPCs
  • retired: Retired games
  • ooc: OOC information
  • tidy: Similarly to stubs, this marks an article as in need of being tidied up/wikified.
  • fiction: Writing involving characters and/or set in a game world.
    • drabble: Short fiction as above.
  • out: To flag a small section as outdated based on the "current" state of affairs in the setting.
  • trash: Flags an article for deletion

Layout helpers

  • tocright: Moves the table of contents to the right hand side, and allows text to start immediately.

Session logs

(See below for the first session log article of a game.)

  • subst:session: Prefills an empty session page with headers as well as categories, and already includes toclog from below. This template requires two arguments: game and session. ex: subst:session|Diablotin 2|32
    • toclog: Generally a sub-template of session, this template includes tocright, and already includes logbox. This template requires the same arguments in the same manner as session.
    • logbox: Generally a sub-template of toclog, this template creates the navigation box. If toclog is not desired for whatever reason, logbox can still be used on its own. This template requires the same arguments in the same manner as session.
  • subst:firstsession: Use this for the first session of a game, so that the navigation box does not include a "previous log" option. This template is almost identical to session except that it requires only one argument: game. ex: subst:firstsession|Scion
    • firsttoclog: A sub-template of subst:firstsession, almost identical to toclog, however it requires only the game argument.
    • firstlogbox: A sub-template of subst:firstsession, almost identical to logbox, however it requires only the game argument.
