Silikam Eldai (126 - 175 IE), also known as Silikam Sejur, nicknamed Crabwalker, is generally regarded as the finest epic poet of the Imperial period. Born into a craft lineage of brewers in eastern Omba, he was expelled from his birth lineage as a young man for lewdness, and then came to the city of Omba to pursue the craft of theater and poetics. At some point he took the lineage name Sejur and was adopted. His finest masterpiece, the epic poem The Silver Children, is regarded today as the finest example of the hafadon poetic style.
