Arkhosia
Arkhosia was an ancient city in what is now the Nerathi Confederacy. It was founded by the dragon called Arkos, who granted his followers seven of the 13 officially recognized dragonmarks of Nerath. The city's ruler and his followers established an empire which lasted for centuries, before the war between it and Bael Turath destroyed both civilizations.
Founding
The tribal groups which persisted after the fall of the Ancients' civilization existed in an ever-changing world which largely prohibited large settlements. Tribes local to the lairs of the dragons called Arkos and Turatha, however, noticed the dragons seemed able to curb the changing effect. Tribes began settling the surrounding areas, coming into conflict over the limited space. Arkos, troubled by the tribal warfare, gathered the leaders of various tribes of humans, elduar, dwarves, and halflings to discuss an alliance. An accord was reached wherein the groups pledged mutual defense, with fealty owed to Arkos as overlord. The dragon bestowed these signatories with dragonmarks, living symbols of their oath which would pass down through their family lines.
More groups flocked to the island of stability the newly named Arkhosia represented, with the original vassals of Arkos becoming the landlords of these newcomers. Soon, the villages and settlements of the tribes grew together, blending into a sizeable city.
