Diablotin: The Blackbloods

A one-shot run in October 2016, set during the Second Psyrene War.

Background

The PCs were all part of the Blackbloods, a unique company of shadar-kai soldiers led by Tazenir Orecalo. The company's wizard, Zavriet ur Brun, was killed under mysterious circumstances and the group were tasked with investigating her death.

Events

The Company's wizard, Zavriet ur Brun, was researching into the Cozovode wizard Rujek, who they believed was allied with the Psyrene rebels. He was exiled from Cozovode for his trafficking with strange alien forces and Shadow Plane elements. Zavriet was killed by a Hound of Tindalos and then arose as a spellscarred fext, and her work area was affected by wild magic lingering aftereffects. Hounds of Tindalos cut through the planes when they travel, letting primal ('wild') magic spill out behind them.

In the Shadow Plane, the group found a cult venerating Enaki-sil, a lunar naga stargazer, who they view as an emissary of Serpent (Enaki-sil mostly tolerates their attention, as long as they provide her with tributes and don't interrupt her meditations). They have also encountered/know of the Hound's visits. Enaki-sil knows that a strange travelling merchant from Ysho-thao came through not long ago, offering trade goods and seeking news of a missing Hound. She gave him permission to take several of her followers as slaves in exchange for a vial of dreaming death that she believes will grant her powerful visions.

The group rescue the slaves and instead made their own deal with the merchant...
