Leader of the tribe of the Wolf when they arrived at the city that would become Diablotin.  Laeken was cold and calculating, and after the city's conquest he forged a bargain with [[Emkathon]].  She offered to protect the city and bear him a child, provided that said child would preserve the blood of the [[Serpent]].  They had a daughter together, [[Katha]], who herself had numerous descendants, including the Trueblood family.

Sometime after Emkathon's sacrifice, Laeken underwent the rituals to become a lich, and eventually a demilich.  He was imprisoned within the Mausoleum for many years, with only a handful of books to read.  When the PCs freed him, he went on a massive library binge.  At Emkathon's release and reunion with Kavreshar, he returned (in human guise) to see her one final time, causing her to shed tears that were used to restore the Arch.  His motivations and goals remain unknown, but he is presumably around somewhere...
