Heru (711-), known as Black Kidney, is a middle-aged farmwife who is physically fit and appears probably ten years younger than she is, at minimum. She lives in Zhustir with her husband Mutur at the Vabaseli iftibal. Her parents were caught up in the failed rebellion of Ekrakosh, which occurred just before she was born, and Heru was raised by her grandparents after her parents were executed. She continues to have somewhat radical social opinions but generally knows to keep them to herself.
