Social drama

Here are some ideas, when developing your character, of ways you can inject some interest or drama into their lives. You should probably not pick too many of these, or else your character will become over-complicated, but a few can really make a difference. This list is not exclusive, of course.

• Has a secret relationship
• Having or had an affair
• Has multiple partners
• Unknown parentage
• Mistaken parentage
• Stigmatized within lineage
• Estranged from lineage
• Has changed lineage
• Has a secret child
• Has an adopted child
• Grieving a major loss
• Former relationship with a major NPC
• Feud with a major NPC
• Rivalry with a major NPC
• Relationship across social classes (self or parent)
• Relationship within own lineage (self or close kin)
• Close with powerful or important ancestor
• Political ambitions within lineage
• Has a senior responsibility within ifti
• Lives apart from family
• Holds a secret about an important NPC
• An ancestor is presently bubun
• Allied with an enemy of Nemnu
• Ancestors were rivals/enemies
• Close family member is absent / lives apart
• Close family member missing
• Secret identity
• Knows closely held secret
• Has ancestral heirloom
• Holds heretical or controversial view
