9:36 PM After a some cajoling, and a fair bit of argument, the town leaders manage to convince everyone to remain in town for the time being, at least not without letting them know. They invite anyone interested in providing assistance to stick around and discuss further plans.

10:57 PM Even with the slight detour, you make good time, coming within sight of Rivergard Keep just before dusk. Immediately, it's obvious something is wrong, as the hamlet surrounding the castle looks mostly deteriorated. A few walls still stand, but maybe one building still has a roof. The Keep itself looks mostly none the worse for wear, perched overlooking the river to the south.
