Summary
Late Summer, Shortly after the dawn of time:
- Dorea disappears after passing into the shadow of the Arch. After much fighting, they defeat the masters of the Arch, though with the loss of Damodar and Hroc. Dorea reappears with a stranger she calls Tirizhian, and together they all undertake to move the Arch. As it is laid in its new dwelling-place, outside the city walls on a new island formed by the diverting of the river, the unnatural darkness over the city turns to ordinary night, but reveals that the stars representing the Rat have vanished from the sky.
