Kirar and Frond's relationship has been tested since their return to her family, as he is generally considered soft since he's never traveled with a caravan before, his interests tend to be rather delicate and artistic, and he is not particularly strong or brave.  These traits, as well as the fact that they have been married for several years without producing any children, make him an easy target for teasing and mockery within the group.  Frond loves him and appreciates his intelligence and tenacity, and will stick up for him when she hears others making fun of him, but there has been an undeniable strain on their marriage, which she is struggling to deal with.

Description

Frond is large and stocky, with somewhat unusual colouration for an orc, having very light blonde hair which she usually wears in thick braids, and a complexion that is more grey-toned than green. She has a kind and generous temperament, preferring to think the best of people and not being easily angered. However, she can be firm and stubborn at times, and her opinion of people is not always easy to change once she's made up her mind about them. She is loyal and protective of her family, and sees herself as responsible for their well-being, even to her own detriment. She can be overconfident and somewhat bossy, and doesn't always think things through before acting.

History

Frond is the eldest daughter of Volda, who is the eldest daughter of Verex, leader of the family caravan. As such, she holds a position of some influence and responsibility, being widely expected to take up a leadership role in the clan when the time comes. Frond was born before Volda married any of her current husbands, being the result of a short-term relationship Volda had with a drow ranger. She doesn't know a huge amount more about her father, as her mother rarely spoke about him when Frond was young. As Volda married and had more children, Frond was often expected to help look after them, as the oldest sister, a role which she used to resent but eventually came to accept as part of her duty.

When Frond was 17, she went to serve a period of training and study at Gundagur Koruruk, an orcish settlement in southern Dracasholt. The matrons and elders there supported her as she took on the mantle of becoming a paladin of Luthic, and as the settlement was on her family's caravan's regular route, she was still able to see them periodically when they made their way through the area every year or so.

During her second year there, the community suffered when a group of bandits began ambushing and robbing travelers on the way to and from the town. Frond and a few others were dispatched to help escort a merchant caravan that was approaching the town. As expected, the caravan came under attack, and Frond defended it bravely, knocking one of the bandit leaders off his horse in the process and killing him. The rest of the bandits fled and Frond was celebrated as the hero of the day.

As a result of her display of courage, one of the matrons of the town began to find reasons for Frond to spend time with her son Kirar, who was about the same age as Frond. The two gradually developed romantic feelings for one another, and by the next time Frond's family's caravan passed through the area, she sought permission from her grandmother to marry him, which was granted. Frond and Kirar have been married for about two and a half years now, but still have no children. About a year ago, Frond and Kirar rejoined Verex's caravan, with their own wagon, and have been traveling with the group since then.
