Thu Parsh

From RocksfallWiki

Thu Parsh, also known in Ombesh as Nulesh (Nuluan), is the native language of the Nuluan people, and along with Ombesh is one of two legal and civil languages of the Duchy of Nulu. Thu Parsh is one of several languages spoken north of the Gentai River and south of the Brekleb (Baraklef) prior to the Omban Empire. Over the first century or so of the Empire's existence, Ombesh began extending itself northward into what is now northern Basai and then eventually, into Nulu itself, which was formally incorporated into the Empire in 161 IE. While many other non-Omban languages have faded into obscurity, Thu Parsh has remained vital, especially in the far north, and after Nuluan independence after the fall of the Empire, Ombesh and Thu Parsh became co-official. Realistically, though, Thu Parsh remains the lower prestige of the two languages, with the nobility and urban populace mostly preferring Ombesh, and the country folk of the north, including the city of Iflaisko, and the rural coasts using Thu Parsh. Today, Thu Parsh is spoken by around 250,000 people in total.
