Nonduru dynasty

From RocksfallWiki

The Nonduru dynasty was the second dynasty to rule as emperors out of the city of Omba, covering the period from 198 - 301 IE After the death of Shan IV Gandachi in 198, tensions reemerged between the supporters of Shan's line and supporters of Mekhor II's line, neither of whom were appealing to most of the Omban nobility. Accordingly, a distant great-grandson of Shan II, Khogru Nonduru, was brought in partly to reestablish peace among the various factions. Unlike the Gandachi, whose emperors had all been simultaneously the hengi of the lineage, Khogru resigned as the Nonduru hengi and thus separated Imperial power from the lineage. Each Nonduru emperor in succession except the last took the regnal name Khogru as a signal of this separateness. Under the Nonduru emperors, the political role of emperors versus noble lineage heads was clarified. The conquest of Malfan, an exceptionally lengthy process, took place throughout this century. In 300, the emperor Lizlai abandoned the regnal name Khogru and attempted to reassert the role of emperor as his personal power. This was brought to a swift end with his assassination in 301 and the beginnings of the Tirumfegla dynasty.
