Purpose

A template can be used to quickly insert the same block text into multiple articles. For example, for all characters played by me, I could add a { { balthcat } } template to automatically add "Player: [User:BalthCat|BalthCat]" to the article. (Remove the spaces between braces).

I have created a number of templates to automatically mark articles as stubs. I have further created templates to mark articles as belonging to particular games, or to mark PCs and games, etc. Below is a list of those templates.

General Use

  • game: Games
  • pc: Characters
  • npc: NPCs
  • retired: Retired games
  • ooc: OOC information
  • tidy: Similarly to stubs, this marks an article as in need of being tidied up/wikified.
  • fiction: Writing involving characters and/or set in a game world.
    • drabble: Short fiction as above.
  • out: To flag a small section as outdated based on the "current" state of affairs in the setting.
  • trash: Flags an article for deletion

Layout helpers

  • tocright: Moves the table of contents to the right hand side, and allows text to start immediately.
