'''Zipus''' is a city in northern [[Malfan]] and is the northern capital of the country. Its permanent population is around 25,000, which expands from time to time when the Grand Chief or other notables from [[Romaz]] visit from the south. It is located on the western edge of Lake Damusa, where the Duruso River flows westward and eventually reaches the [[Daligash|Daligashi]] city of [[Lunduso]]. During the [[conquest of Malfan]], Zipus was the first city conquered - the small town of indigenous Malfanders had been supplemented by [[Hulti]] and other rebellious sorts. The razing of the city in 229 and its rebuilding as an Omban military city forced rebellious elements south of the river and established a permanent disjuncture between north (Zipus) and south (Romaz) within Malfan. Today, Zipus has over 90% adherence to the [[Corps]] although in principle, religious freedom of the Hulti is respected there.
