-The group finds that the people from the camp have been taken to a cave where people cursed by Manitokeh during the war have gathered and are living.  They send Lucas and Welemque to approach, covered by snipers just in case.  They (mostly Lucas) are able to secure the release of the potential sacrifices after talking to their leader, Sister Elise, who has been trnsfprmed most completely into a snake person.  After that, the party is able to retrieve the cannons, and hastily depart.
