Advocates for the child-king styled as Shan IV, the former emperor&amp;#039;s son, enlisted [[Eluli Ula]] to act as a sort of regent, while (as a former emperor) holding imperial power in his own right, while they could build support for their position and give the younger Shan time to age a little.  In the end, however, that faction of the Gandachi was unsuccessful, as ultimately Mekhor II, a more distant cousin, was able to assert control.&lt;br /&gt;
