Rasalan’s mother was a whore in Pearl City, [[Roene Bruyel]], and he never knew who his father was, so his life could have turned out very badly indeed. But he was lucky - his mother wound up working at [[The Rutting Boar]], a brothel run by a man named [[Altheo Renaud]] who made sure that the customers didn’t mistreat the staff, and who helped his employees save up money in order to get out of the business if that was what they wanted. Rasalan grew up there, at least for the first few years of his life, until his mother left to take up work in a leather-worker’s shop. As it turned out, Altheo also had some ties with the [[Corriveau crime family]], and he remembered Roene when her son turned up looking for work as a teenager. That’s how Rasalan wound up working for the Corriveaux. He started out doing small jobs - pickpocketing, street scams and the like - but has gradually built up a reputation as a skilled thief, good at breaking and entering as well as upper-story work. He is loyal to the Corriveau family, at least as long as it’s in his best interests to be so.

Rasalan is compact and wiry, with medium-brown skin and braided dark brown hair. He mostly keeps to himself if he can, has few close friends, and doesn’t trust people easily - he expects them to prove their skills and competence first, and even then, it could take much longer before he trusts them on a personal rather than professional level. He would normally work alone if given the choice.
