+The team sets out to investigate the death of [[Surgu Takovenga]], heading north and west through the Ghengom.  They travel to [[Hong Sogo]], where they encounter Marga's father [[Tocha Gago]] at his great iftibal, and speak to his lieutenant [[Bazuz Takovenga]], Surgu's elder son.  They also speak to Voice [[Sumasi Zipizmo]], who tells them more about Surgu's condition and state of mind.  They travel overland towards Gil Hargush, and encounter the vulture [[Rechegoko Naznaz]], who confirms that Surgu was being tracked, and agrees to take them to his final campsite.  They reach a high terraced hilltop west of the ruined castle, and upon ascending it, are attacked by a giant two-headed snake, which they defeat, although Rechegoko is sorely wounded.  They find Surgu's possessions ritually burned with red ochre.
