* Feoras gestures to the ... portal?

* Xandhil eyes Justen, and will go ahead
[DiablotinNarrator] You find yourself in a thickly forested area, rich and vibrant with greenery. The colours are more intense, the scents more rich, than anything you've experienced before.
* Justen and Tai follow you through, with Feoras bringing up the rear.
[DiablotinNarrator] There is normal gravity here, wherever 'here' is...
* Xandhil stretches now that things feel more normal again
[Xandhil] This place is beautiful...
* Feoras smiles slightly.
[Feoras] This is the Homewood, where our people first came from.
* Feoras seems to include you in the 'our'.
* Xandhil openes his mouth to ask something, but doesn't
[Xandhil] our?
* Xandhil asks instead
[Feoras] The ancestors we share.
[Xandhil] I've never heard anything about that... unless you mean all elves?
[Feoras] Yes. Once there were no divisions between our kin.
* Xandhil nods
[Xandhil] what happened?
* Xandhil asks, because Feoras seems like exactly the kind of person who would know :3
[Feoras] A story that would be long in the telling. But in short, we were exiled, or we were given a task, depending on who you ask.
[Xandhil] Are you still talking about shared ancestors? or your people now?
[Feoras] My people.
* Xandhil nods, super curious about the story now
* Xandhil looks around with unrepressed curiousity
* Tai_ also seems quite enraptured by this place. Justen is a little more wary/unimpressed, you think.
[Xandhil] And we'll get to meet the ancestors? Or some of them?
[Feoras] Some, yes.
[Xandhil] okay :)
[Xandhil] .....what will they want?
[Feoras] They will have questions for you. They will seek to know your hearts.
* Xandhil nods
[Feoras] They may pose you a challenge, I cannot say.
* Xandhil eyes Justen and smiles at him
[Xandhil] we'll be okay :)
* Xandhil smiles at tai also, more as an afterthought
* Justen and Tai smile back, Tai a bit nervously though.
* Feoras begins to walk through the woods - he seems to know where he's going.
* Xandhil follows
* Feoras 's path leads you eventually to a clearing ringed with huge trees.
* Feoras stands there, as if waiting for something.
* Xandhil looks up
[DiablotinNarrator] A sudden wind gust whips by you, from nowhere - the air has been quite still until now, but now the leaves are rustling and the air is alive.
* Xandhil flexes his wings reflexively against the breeze
[DiablotinNarrator] Three whirlwinds, each about the size of a person, take shape in the clearing.
* Xandhil watches
[DiablotinNarrator] The wind gradually dwindles and slows until you can see three figures standing there.
[DiablotinNarrator] They look like elves, although rather broader through the shoulders and stockier than you're used to, with gleaming white hair and eyes that shimmer through a rainbow spectrum. Two are male, one female.
[Feoras] Yzan, Jaslo, Aanor... thank you for coming.
* Feoras makes a little respectful bow to them.
* Xandhil copies him
* Justen and Tai do as well.
[Feoras] These are the ones I told you of... they seek secrets and I need to know if they are to be trusted with them.
[Feoras] Xandhil, Justen, and Tai.
* Feoras introduces you.
* Feoras then steps back to let them do their thing, so I can switch him to some other nick ;)
* Feoras is now known as Aanor
* Xandhil smiles at them but isn't sure what he should say, if anything
* Aanor is the woman. She looks you up and down as if she isn't sure what to make of you three.
[Aanor] What are you?
[Xandhil] Um... I don't really know if there's a word for it.
[Aanor] You are of our line, but ... not.
[Xandhil] It's complicated.
* Xandhil says a tad defensively
* Aanor smiles.
[Aanor] Be at peace, child. I mean no offense by it.
[Aanor] We know those of human blood, like you.
* Xandhil nods
* Aanor says with a nod to Tai.
[Aanor] But you are... other.
* Xandhil nods again.
[Xandhil] (Are they looking at Justen too?)
* Aanor doesn't seem to be addressing Justen at this point, just you.
[Xandhil] (Or are they ignoring him since he;'s not elfy at all ;)
[Xandhil] My father was half-elven
* Xandhil offers
[Aanor] And your mother?
[Xandhil] ...
* Xandhil makes a face because he has a hard time thinking of Arek as his mother.

* Aanor arches an eyebrow.
* Xandhil looks stubborn
[Aanor] ...He, then... was of the Court of Stars.
[Xandhil] ...I guess that makes sense.
* Xandhil answers more thoughtfully
[Xandhil] he was, hmmm....
[Aanor] So some survived...
[Xandhil] Made, and re-made, by Emkathon
[Aanor] Ah, hm.
[Aanor] And you...
* Aanor says, turning to Justen.
[Xandhil] His father was from the court of stars too.
[Aanor] You are another of that line.
* Xandhil says, again a tad defensively
* Justen nods a bit reluctantly.
[Aanor] Why do you seek what is gone?
* Aanor asks any of you.
* Justen glances at you.
[Xandhil] We just want to know what happened.
[Justen] ... Because I want to see it for myself.
[Justen] I want to understand.
* Xandhil glances over at him, and resists the urge to bite his lip
[Aanor] You, Tai... this is not your quest.
* Tai_ shakes his head.
[Tai_] I just want to ... to have a home. With these people, if I can.
* Xandhil really just wants to stand by Justen and hold his hand, but isn't sure that would be appropriate
* Tai_ says with a nod to Feoras.
* Xandhil is trying to decide if he cares - don't want to jeapordize things with the elves...
[Aanor] You could not travel to the empty lands... but you might be fit to guard them. We shall see.
* Aanor gestures to one of the men - you think it's the one Feoras called Yzan but you're not completely sure, they look a lot alike. He steps forward.
[DiablotinNarrator] (and we're going to have a fight here, so now is maybe a good time to pause and let me get Arthur ready for bed and stuff.)
[Xandhil] (a fight? :o)
[Xandhil] (okay, we;;l, I'll grab real dinner that is not frozen yogurt and a handful of peanuts ;)

* Aanor said with a slight smile.
* Xandhil is half annoyed with himself and half concerned for Justen
[Aanor] You still have much to learn, but you have skill.
* Xandhil nods, then gives a little bow in return
[Xandhil] . o O (This is what comes from leaning magic from a pacifist >.>)
[Aanor] The empty lands are, despite their name, not empty of dangers. You must be strong if you are to face them.
[Aanor] You, Tai... as I expected, you are not ready to journey there.
* Tai_ 's face falls a bit but he nods.
[Aanor] But you have another destiny.
* Aanor says, with a nod in Feoras's direction.
* Tai_ glances over to him uncertainly.
[Xandhil] . o O (good)
[Aanor] You have earned our blessing, and it will give you courage to face those who would not accept you.
* Aanor puts a hand on Tai's chest, and a faint light seems to linger where she touched him.
[Aanor] As for you, descendants of the Court of Stars...
* Aanor turns to you and Justen.
[Aanor] Your ancestors charged us with the task of guarding the empty lands - we could hardly deny you passage.
* Xandhil is a little relieved
[Xandhil] which ancestors?
* Xandhil wonders who gave that directive @_@
[Aanor] The Twins.
* Xandhil nods
[Aanor] But what you find there may not be what you seek.
* Aanor cautions you.
* Xandhil nods, reaching back for Justen's hand
* Justen takes it, squeezing yours tightly.
[Xandhil] We'll figure it out.
* Aanor nods.
[Aanor] May the stars guide you.
* Xandhil smiles at that
* Aanor says, as she and her two companions turn back into whirlwinds and whoosh away.
[Xandhil] (reminds me of father, awwww)
* Aanor is now known as Feoras
[Feoras] Well. That was ... better than I expected.
* Feoras says once they're gone and the clearing is still again.
[Xandhil] oh?
[Feoras] He was holding back. They wanted you to best him.
[Xandhil] I wondered....
[Xandhil] He could have taken us out
* Feoras nods.
* Xandhil says, still holding Justen's hand
* Xandhil squeezes it again
[Feoras] They can shoot lighting from their eyes, and make themselves more difficult to hit, and mirror themselves... he didn't do any of that. That's good.
[Justen] No kidding...
[Xandhil] uhh... yeah @_@
[Feoras] Come, we should leave here.
* Feoras will escort you back to the portal-thingy.
[Xandhil] should we heal ourselves or is it going to matter still when we leave here?
[Feoras] You can carry wounds back... heal yourselves if you wish, or I can assist you with that.
* Feoras holds out his hands to help, if you wish.
[Xandhil] that would be good.... the wand is sort of limited :3

* Feoras will guide you back into the real world, and into your bodies once more. It seems sort of drab and heavy compared to where you just were.
