Hojon is the hengi of the Nemni lineage, and thus a direct descendant of Nemnu and Elujen's adopted son Osper, who, upon reaching his current title, took (as is Nemni custom) Osper's name as his own, twenty-sixth of that name. Although the lineage is not large in size, the Nemni have access to considerable wealth through Nemnu, and Hojon is a key member of her inner circle. His own marriage to Tairasta of the Derteri has been a troubled one, fraught with violent battles, but has nonetheless managed to produce four children and mostly survive, though his wife keeps a separate home in Naftusa. He has a young partner from one of the local noble lineages, Afra, with whom he spends most of his time now.
