'''Halden''' is a man of 50, and Pitmaster at [[the Arena]]. His head is shaved, and he is scarred from his battles. His father was the celebrated gladiator of years ago, [[Boden of Gouge (Andusk)|Boden of Gouge]], a savage warrior captured somewhere up in the north and brought to the city as a young man. Boden was very famous in his day, and fathered Halden on one of the many pit floozies who flocked around him, before moving on to better things. For all that his father had little to do with him, Halden has always looked up to him, even going so far as to master his barbaric fighting style, which he passes on to a few worthy students. He retired from active fighting about ten years ago with a knee injury that never really healed properly.
