New page

The Battle of Burafa took place in 242 IE in what is now western Sharai (at the time, part of the province of Omba). It marked the victory of the Empire over a set of Hulti noble lineages who persisted in the old religion after the Atamurine purge, over a century earlier. An uneasy peace was broken earlier in the year and Emperor Khogru II perceived a threat of secession. The battle itself was consequential insofar as the likely heirs of three of the Hulti lineages were killed. Even though the strategic value was limited, beyond that point the Hulti noble lineages either converted or moved to Malfan.
