The largest and fastest-growing of the upland settlements of the province, Akapa Sogo has a mixed economy of herding and farming as well as labor in and around the nearby site of [[Nemnosti (site)|Nemnosti]]. Its 800 or so residents have close ties both to the nearby lowland settlement of [[Hertu]] and to the provincial town of [[Naftusa]], and often intermarry and live in those communities, linked through its location in the upper reaches of the [[Fantendi River]].
