Summary

Justen and Xan seek out Professor Abelet Sotiris at the University of Nys and explain what happened to Evfimia Gyrus. Sotiris takes the news relatively well, and offers to take care of informing the university as well as helping them gain access to her office. They find her research indicating that she was descended from the Djinn of Air, Nizar, but no evidence of any association with political extremists. They invite Sotiris to come and visit the site of the Tomb of Orelius for a few days, and he accepts. They return to the site, where Sleyght offers to pay Xan to continue working at the site in Gyrus's place. Xan talks to Anxikaril about family, and later that night he and Justen are visited by the fire Djinn, who offers them each a wish.

Session

Session date: November 12, 2014
Diablotin date: Spring 2275

* Xandhil will offer to heal Justen's shoulder if he needs it, before we leave the bathhouse >.>
<Justen> hmm, maybe, yeah >.>
<Justen> I mean, I'll be fine, I just don't wanna bleed on my shirt
<Xandhil> yeah
* Xandhil can take care of that, then >.>
<Justen> thanks
<Justen> and also, thanks ^-^
<Xandhil> anything for my handsome fiancé?
* Justen grins
<Justen> I feel like we should get rings or something
<Justen> that's what people do, I hear ;)
<Xandhil> oh, yeah, I guess..
* Xandhil says, not having really considered the matter
<Justen> maybe we can find something nice at the market ... or if not, there's plenty of time.
<Xandhil> right
<Xandhil> but uh
<Xandhil> we should probably go take care of our less fun errands :|
<Justen> Yeah... :/
<Xandhil> we might need something pleasantly distracting on the way back though :)
<Xandhil> we can look then
<Justen> okay
* Justen gives you another kiss before you leave the bathhouse
* Xandhil returns it eagerly, and then will lead you back to the university museum
* NPC1 is now known as Sotiris
* Xandhil will head to his office, if we can find it, and knock
<Xandhil> (his = Sotiris')
* Sotiris will shuffle to the door and open it
<Sotiris> Ah, hello, M. Orecalo - I didn't expect to see you again quite so soon
* Sotiris gives Justen a polite nod as well
<Sotiris> Come in, please! How is the excavation going?
<Xandhil> well.... that's why we're here
* Xandhil says, all serious face
* Sotiris realizes that something must be wrong, from your expression, and closes the door to ensure your privacy
<Xandhil> it hasn't really gone according to plan
* Sotiris 's office is lined to the ceilings with books, and is cramped
* Xandhil is not bothered by that, somehow :V
<Xandhil> So...
<Xandhil> the tomb had undead guardians
<Xandhil> and we thought it would be best to take a small team of experts and make sure it was safe for the digging crews
* Sotiris nods, listening
<Xandhil> There were a lot of fancy traps inside...
<Xandhil> And Professor Gyrus didn't make it out.
<Xandhil> We had a healer with us, but there wasn't anything she could do.
<Sotiris> Oh... that's awful.
<Xandhil> yes
<Xandhil> We're sorry
<Xandhil> But - well...
<Xandhil> that's all true, but there's more to it, and it gets more complicated.
* Sotiris looks dismayed, and a bit puzzled
<Sotiris> Please - have a seat and tell me what you can.
* Xandhil nods
<Xandhil> I'd like to but - this isn't something that I'm comfortable going on any kind of official record.
<Sotiris> All right... I understand.
<Xandhil> okay, thank you.
* Xandhil will moves some books off a chair and sit down, setting them carefully on top of another pre-existing pile
* Justen finds a spot on the windowsill that isn't entirely covered, and sits there
<Xandhil> The tomb is the Tomb of Orelius
<Xandhil> I'm sure you've heard stories about the Djinn that served him?
* Sotiris 's eyes brighten somewhat at that, despite his obviously being upset
* Sotiris nods
<Xandhil> and how he was betrayed?
<Sotiris> Yes
<Xandhil> Before we arrived there, we had some evidence that it wasn't something all of the Djinn had acted on together
<Xandhil> There was one that the others considered a betrayer.
* Sotiris listens intently
<Xandhil> in the tomb, each of the Djinn had a room of their own, dedicated to the different elements - the Djinn of air's tomb was separated from the others.
<Xandhil> in the vault there, I found an inscription that talked about how it had been imprisoned... until the stars had been returned to the sky, and it could face justice
* Xandhil paraphrases
<Sotiris> ...hm.
<Xandhil> but.... those are things have come to pass since the tomb was built.
* Sotiris nods
<Xandhil> In each of the rooms, we'd found.... containers, and there was one final puzzle, I guess that clearly related to them.
<Xandhil> We suspected that it might release some of the djinn, but we wanted to make sure everything was safe and.... well
<Xandhil> its exciting!
<Xandhil> Professor Gyrus was very keen to proceed, even after we considered the possibilities.
<Xandhil> she wasn't alone, of course.
<Sotiris> I'm sure... it would have been a shame to go that far and not proceed at that point
* Xandhil nods
<Sotiris> she must have been fascinated
<Xandhil> It was more than that.
<Xandhil> We released them all - even the Djinn of Air, which threatened us immediately
<Sotiris> oh?
<Xandhil> But... Professor Gyrus knew its name
<Xandhil> She knew it was there, and what it was
<Xandhil> and she took control of it
<Sotiris> she... what?
<Xandhil> she said it was part of her heritage....
<Xandhil> yes
<Xandhil> The inscription had mentioned that - sorry, I'm trying to keep it all straight - that its name coudln't be known.
<Xandhil> but she knew it.
<Xandhil> The other Djinn struck her down immediately
<Xandhil> They knew it was too dangerous for anyone to control him.
<Sotiris> :/
<Xandhil> but - it really seems like that was her aim - to go and take control of it.
<Sotiris> to what end?
<Xandhil> I think she was a Psyrene nationalist.
* Sotiris looks not entirely surprised about this
<Xandhil> I mean - its one thing to care about your heritage and history and to want the best for your people
<Xandhil> its another thing to take control of well - basically, corrupted angels.
* Sotiris nods, frowning
<Xandhil> I don't know what we need to do, to let the university know, and what arrangements to make
<Xandhil> but.... if it's possible, I'd like to go through her office.
<Sotiris> I'll speak with the necessary authorities - with the others in the department, and to let her family and friends know
<Xandhil> okay, thank you
<Sotiris> in going through her papers... it might be best if we went together.
* Xandhil nods
* Sotiris considers
<Xandhil> that's fair.
<Sotiris> if there is any material there that it would be best to.. prevent from falling into the wrong hands.
<Xandhil> We have....contacts.... witht the authorities back in Diablotin, too, if there's anything that shoudl be brought to their attention
* Xandhil says with a glance to justen
<Sotiris> This djinn - is it now at liberty?
<Xandhil> no
<Xandhil> it uh.... gets kind of esoteric from there
<Sotiris> well, that's a relief
<Sotiris> that it's not now roaming the world, that is
<Xandhil> The only one remaining was the Djinn of fire
<Xandhil> who seemed much more reasonable
<Xandhil> it's not gone, exactly? But I don't thik it is a threat, and can't be controlled by humans.
* Sotiris nods
<Sotiris> then perhaps we had best proceed to Professor Gyrus's office, and see what we're able to find there
* Sotiris suggests
* Xandhil nods in return and will stand back up, careful not to knowck over any books
* Sotiris will lead the way to her office, which is in a different building, not the museum, which is much newer-looking
* Sotiris spins some story for the building's custodian about a book he'd loaned her that he needs to retrieve, blah blah blah, and is able to get the key
* Sotiris unlocks Gyrus's office and shuts the door behind you all so that nobody will wonder why you're rooting through her things >.>
<Sotiris> it's tragic, really... she was a very promising scholar :/
* Sotiris says, looking around her (much neater) office
<Xandhil> :|
<Xandhil> what was her main area of study?
* Xandhil asks?
* Xandhil casts DM though >.>
* Xandhil doesn't want to accidentally set off an explosive runes or something :p
<Sotiris> She conducted research on the foundation period and first centuries of the kingdom of Psyra - its language, history, arcana, and so forth
<DiablotinNarrator> One of the cabinets has an arcane lock on it
* Xandhil will cast knock and open it :V
<Xandhil> (everyone who ever learns Arcane Lock: . o O (No one ever learns knock a a sorcerer, it'll be fine!))
<DiablotinNarrator> In the cabinet, you find a bunch of handwritten notes - it looks to you at a glance like genealogical research
* Xandhil will take a closer look
<DiablotinNarrator> Tracing her own family, it seems like Gyrus had uncovered some evidence that her family traced its ancestry back to a djinn of air
<Xandhil> ...
<Xandhil> huh
<DiablotinNarrator> there is also something that looks like a transcript, or at least a series of questions and answers, with an unspecific person or entity
* Xandhil looks those over as well
<Xandhil> it looks liek she might have been descended from it?
* Xandhil will pass the geneaology notes to ayone else who is interested
* Sotiris will look them over
<Xandhil> (bloodlines are already a Thing now, aren;t they?)
<DiablotinNarrator> (yes)
<DiablotinNarrator> The .. interviews/interrogations/whatever, you gather upon reading those notes more closely, looks to be with summoned entities of air - elementals and the like
<DiablotinNarrator> (you assume summoned, anyway)
<Xandhil> I guess it's like... bloodline research
<Xandhil> (I assume the questions relate?)
<DiablotinNarrator> It appears like she was trying to confirm issues of the research, and more importantly, find out the name from these entities, yeah
<Xandhil> (Is it in here?)
<DiablotinNarrator> (the actual name itself? no)
<DiablotinNarrator> (if she learned it through these means, presumably either she had better sense than to write it down, or she took those notes with her)
<Xandhil> She got the name from elementals, it looks like - its not here, though
<Sotiris> that's probably for the best, then...
* Xandhil nods
<Sotiris> do you think there's anything in here that would be incriminating?
* Sotiris asks, leafing through the notes
<Xandhil> not in here, no
<Sotiris> people might wonder why, but I don't think there's anything that would either besmirch her reputation, or pose a danger to anyone else
* Xandhil nods
* Sotiris will tuck the papers back in the locked chest then
<Xandhil> whether there's anything else here, though...
* Xandhil will looks through some other stuff?
<DiablotinNarrator> You can continue to look through the office - there are probably lots of books that Xan would find interesting, but nothing else that seems especially weird or dangerous
<Xandhil> (nothing to suggest she had any connectiosn with psyran extremists or anything?)
* Xandhil is a little relieved
<Xandhil> maybe it was just personal for her
<DiablotinNarrator> (not in her office, no)
<Sotiris> maybe
<Sotiris> if she kept such things, maybe they were at her home, or in her possession
* Xandhil nods
<Xandhil> We can see when we get back to the site, unless Sleyght's already looked into it.
<Sotiris> or, if she was truly involved with separatists, I've heard that they try to avoid putting matters into writing, for obvious reasons
<Sotiris> maybe things were only communicated verbally, or by sendings and so forth. I don't know :/
* Xandhil nods
<Xandhil> that would make sense
* Sotiris sighs
<Sotiris> we probably ought to go, then, before someone starts to wonder what we're doing in here that's taking so long
<Xandhil> right
* Xandhil will quickly straighten up anything that looks terribly out of place
* Justen helps with that
<Xandhil> alright
<Sotiris> Well.. I will take the unfortunate news to our colleagues, then
<Sotiris> are you remaining in the city much longer?
<Xandhil> I don;t think so, no
<Xandhil> however - if you'd like to come out adn see the site, we could bring you out there without all the travel
<Sotiris> Well - if you're staying the night, would you like to meet for dinner later? I admit I would be fascinated to hear anything more about the discoveries that have been made so far.
<Sotiris> oh. well, that would be very interesting...
* Sotiris considers the matter
<Xandhil> I think we could certianly do dinner though!
<Sotiris> I would have to return within a day or two.
* Xandhil nods
<Xandhil> that would be fine
<Xandhil> We could do dinner, and leave in the morning?
<Sotiris> Yes, I think that could work. I'll rearrange my schedule as needed, but given the circumstances I think my colleagues will understand.
<Xandhil> alright then.
<Sotiris> Shall we plan to meet later, then?
* Xandhil nods
<Xandhil> We have a little shopping to take care of while we're here.
* Sotiris will let you know when and where
<Sotiris> Very well.
<Xandhil> We'll see you tonight!
* Sotiris will bid you farewell, then
<DiablotinNarrator> So, picking up back at the camp?
<DiablotinNarrator> (do you think Xan and Justen found rings they liked? ;)
<Xandhil> (yes! and poooossibly? Xan would be super picky >.>)
<DiablotinNarrator> (heh)
<Xandhil> (but Psyra would probably be equal to the task ^-^)
<DiablotinNarrator> (well, J wouldn't rush him to pick one if he wasn't certain ;)
<DiablotinNarrator> (but let's say they can manage :)
<DiablotinNarrator> (possibly after many different shops ;)
<Xandhil> (^-^ honestly Xan probably wants something fairly simple, anyway. But durable >.>)
<DiablotinNarrator> So, you can arrive back at camp, with Sotiris, and I'm sure he can get shown around and such. It seems like work has started again
* Xandhil looks to Justen
<Xandhil> So - now what? We never even really got started the first time
<Justen> I don't really know... carry on with the work I guess?
<Justen> Did you need to talk to Sleyght?
<Xandhil> yeah.
<Xandhil> hmm.
<Xandhil> alright
* Xandhil gives Justen a quick hug and then will go find Sleyght
* Sotiris is now known as Sleyght
* Sleyght can be found going over some notes
<Xandhil> Hey.
<Xandhil> Professor.
* Xandhil adds quickly
<Sleyght> Oh, hello... thank you for bringing Professor Sotiris back with you, he's been most invaluable.
<Xandhil> no problem - I though it would be good to get him out here for a little bit at least. We'll take him back to Nys in a few days.
* Sleyght nods
<Sleyght> And thank you also for handling the unfortunate business with Professor Gyrus :/
<Sleyght> I feel like I ought to have been the one to do so, but it made sense for you to go.
<Xandhil> We just talked to Professor Sotiris - he handled the university issues.
* Sleyght nods
<Xandhil> ...We did have a look around Gyrus's office. She'd done some geneological researcl, and traced her bloodline back to this Air Djinn.
<Xandhil> and she'd been working with elementals to learn its name.
<Xandhil> but that was all we found.
<Sleyght> hm :/
<Sleyght> There were also some papers in her tent - I took the liberty of going through them
* Sleyght says of the notes he's reading
* Xandhil nods
<Xandhil> anything there?
<Sleyght> Nothing that would have given a sign of what she was planning, but a few things that seem odd in retrospect.
<Xandhil> oh?
<Sleyght> Well, there's some personal correspondence - political in nature, mainly. And I don't know why she would bring things like that with her here unless it was somehow relevant.
<Sleyght> Concerns that the artifacts found here would end up being taken back to Diablotin, for instance
* Xandhil nods
<Sleyght> I think that she was primarily devoted to her studies, but where they intersected with politics, she had strong views.
* Xandhil nods
<Xandhil> I think that makes sense - hopefully that's all there was to it.
<Xandhil> that it was personal, and not more involved.
<Xandhil> how is everything else going?
<Sleyght> As well as could be expected - I sent one of the workers back to the village to let the others know it would be safe to return if they wishe, and otherwise work has started up again
<Sleyght> But it'll be more difficult without Professor Gyrus's expertise
* Xandhil nods
<Xandhil> Well, professor Sotiris shoudl be able to give some insight while he's here
<Sleyght> Yes, I certainly hope so
<Sleyght> There is one odd thing - although perhaps not unexpected, given the circumstances
<Sleyght> The contents of the fire room have disappeared.
<Xandhil> heh, I wondered about that
<Xandhil> I suppose - they did belong to him
* Sleyght nods
<Sleyght> I wish we had had more opportunity to ask questions... imagine what they could have told us, if they'd been more communicative
<Xandhil> Oh I know. I had a list >.>
<Sleyght> heh
<Xandhil> but, he is still out there...
<Sleyght> true, true...
* Sleyght sighs
<Xandhil> I wonder if he would answer on a sending...
* Xandhil muses
<Sleyght> can any of us really say we're familiar with him?
* Sleyght ponders
<Xandhil> vaugely familiar...
<Xandhil> we've at least met and conversed.
<Sleyght> I suppose so, even if we no longer know his name...
<Sleyght> it might be something to attempt at some point, I suppose, even if it might be futile
* Xandhil nods
<Xandhil> if I ever learn the spell, I'll let you know :)
* Sleyght smiles at that
<Xandhil> (It is on the beguiler list >.>)
<Sleyght> very good, then
<Xandhil> I never got a chance to get properly started before with work here
* Sleyght nods
<Xandhil> I know I'm not an expert in Psyrene history like Professor Gyrus, but I should be able to at least cover some of the bases
<Sleyght> Hopefully now we can proceed without further disruptions
<Sleyght> Would you?
<Sleyght> I know it's asking a lot of you, but if you would be willing to stay, that would be marvellous
<Sleyght> I can offer you the fee I was going to pay her, if things had gone differently... :/
<Xandhil> :|
* Xandhil nods
<Xandhil> That would work fine for me.
<Sleyght> Thank you, then
<Sleyght> I appreciate it very much
<Xandhil> Justen's not at liberty to stay as long, but my schedule is more flexible
<Xandhil> Well - its a fantastic site!
<Xandhil> I'm still grateful for the opportunity
<Xandhil> We can also make it a little easier to communicate back with the city - be it Diablotin or Nys.
<Sleyght> It truly is... although I can't help but feel that it's also a haunted one.
* Xandhil nods
<Sleyght> not literally, perhaps, but by so many...
* Sleyght waves a hand, searching for the right word
<Sleyght> ... troubles.
* Sleyght settles on
<Xandhil> I know what you mean
<Xandhil> I do think we need to give careful consideration to what happens with the artifacts, if we don't want to invite any more
<Sleyght> I think you're correct
<Xandhil> but there's still time to sort all that out.
* Sleyght nods
<Sleyght> Perhaps a promise that even if they are taken to Diablotin temporarily for study, that they would be returned...
* Sleyght ponders
<Xandhil> maybe, as long as there's a solid time frame
* Sleyght nods
<Xandhil> and as long as Psyrene scholars are given access while they're there?
<Sleyght> but as you say, there's time to consider what's best
* Sleyght nods
<Xandhil> I'm sure there are other who will want a say as well :p
<Sleyght> Oh, yes, certainly
<Sleyght> it's not entirely up to us
<Sleyght> well... I suppose we ought to carry on, as best as we can. I'll speak with you further, though.
<Xandhil> of course
<Xandhil> Just - let me know where you'd like us to start!
<Sleyght> Certainly!
* Sleyght can give you some guidance on where to start
* Xandhil will collect Justen then ^-^
<DiablotinNarrator> Who would you like to talk to next? Anxikaril, or Karala?
<Xandhil> (I'll go with A -he can leve on his own, Karala needs Justen to take her home ;)
<DiablotinNarrator> (okay)
* Sleyght is now known as Anxikaril
* Anxikaril is around his campsite
* Xandhil will probably go find him in the evening after the first day of being back/work
<Anxikaril> ('k)
<Anxikaril> Good evening
<Xandhil> hello!
<Xandhil> I'm glad you're still here
<Anxikaril> I was planning to leave before too long, but I hoped to speak to you again before I go
* Xandhil nods
<Anxikaril> (I assume this whole conversation is in Cozovode)
<Xandhil> (yes, I was too - I also assume its just me)
<DiablotinNarrator> (okay)
<Xandhil> Are you going to just keep.... wandering?
<Anxikaril> A week ago, the answer would have been yes.
<Anxikaril> Now, I don't know what to say.
* Xandhil nods
<Xandhil> I've been thinking about what I should say to my father
<Xandhil> he can be.... touchy.
<Anxikaril> Have you reached any conclusions?
* Xandhil shakes his head
<Xandhil> I need to talk to my... other ...parent
<Xandhil> they'll probably know better.
* Anxikaril nods
<Anxikaril> I don't wish to intrude on your family's lives.
* Xandhil nods
<Xandhil> It's not just my father, though
<Anxikaril> Knowing that they live, that you exist, means a great deal to me, but I don't have any claim on you, or them.
<Xandhil> no but - some of them might like to meet you, if they could
* Anxikaril nods
* Xandhil is mostly thinking of Em who would totally want to meet him, and maybe Taz, or maaaybe Rhyl...
<Xandhil> . o O (And dad, and mom. Everyone *except* father I know would)
<Xandhil> But I don't know how I'd find you again...
* Anxikaril considers this for a moment
<Anxikaril> Could you perform a Sending to contact me if... if it did seem like I might be welcome?
<Xandhil> I'd have to get a scroll, but I could do that.
* Xandhil considers
<Xandhil> my mother might be able to make one for me, acually
* Anxikaril nods
<Anxikaril> If that was possible, I could return here, to this place, and you could find me here?
<Xandhil> yes.
<Anxikaril> I would not stay in your city for a long while - I couldn't live there. but, in order to see you and your family, I would be more than willing to visit.
* Xandhil nods
<Xandhil> we coudl bring you there easily enough
<Xandhil> but yeah.... I don't think you woudl like it @_@
<Xandhil> I find it overwhelming sometimes, and I grew up there.
* Anxikaril nods
<Anxikaril> After that, I don't know. I do wish to see my sister again - maybe I could get a message to her, at least.
* Xandhil nods
<Anxikaril> I honestly don't know if I'm suited to anything other than the life I have... but maybe I've allowed myself to think that for so many years that it becomes true that way.
<Xandhil> maybe - you have a long time though, to try other things
* Anxikaril nods
* Xandhil considers
<Anxikaril> a long time to think about mistakes, too
<Xandhil> |:
<Xandhil> My family is....
<Xandhil> pretty strange
<Xandhil> generally, they're pretty forgiving
* Anxikaril nods
<Anxikaril> Strange how? Is it connected to what happened in the tomb?
* Anxikaril has obviously been waiting to ask this
<Xandhil> ....
<Xandhil> sorta?
<Xandhil> It's complicated
<Anxikaril> it would have to be
<Xandhil> The djin..... came from somewhere else, and became what they were because they had to
<Xandhil> My....birth parent - was from that same place.
<Xandhil> and became something else
<Anxikaril> you keep speaking of your birth parent... but you also have said your mother. They are not the same?
* Xandhil sighs
<Xandhil> No.
<Xandhil> My father has two partners.
* Xandhil waits for A to decide that they are too Weird and wash his hands of them >.>
<Anxikaril> ... at the same time?
<Xandhil> Yes.
* Anxikaril considers this for a moment
<Anxikaril> They are all content with this... arrangement?
* Xandhil nods
* Xandhil crosses his arms a little defensively
<Anxikaril> All right.
* Anxikaril says eventually.
<Anxikaril> it's none of my business, and I'm glad that they are happy.
<Xandhil> I wasn't exagerating >.>
<Xandhil> they'll both want to meet you, I'm sure.
<Xandhil> and my sister
<Xandhil> but they'll leave that up to father.
<Anxikaril> and he is... touchy, you said
<Xandhil> :/
<Xandhil> I really honestly don't know what he'll say.
<Xandhil> He might be curious
<Xandhil> or.. not.
<Xandhil> he's just never ever said anything about his family.
* Anxikaril nods
<Anxikaril> If he does decide he doesn't want to see me - can you still let me know?
<Xandhil> yes.
<Anxikaril> thank you
<Xandhil> I might like to see you again, anyway>
<Xandhil> ?
<Anxikaril> I would like that too
* Anxikaril says a bit shyly/awkwardly
<Xandhil> good
* Xandhil smiles, a little relieved
* Anxikaril smiles back, not quite used to this whole thing
<DiablotinNarrator> That night, you can settle into your tent with Justen, rather worn out after a long day
* Xandhil snuggles and limpets
* Justen is happy to snuggle back
<Xandhil> I talked to Anxikaril... sorta about my family
<Justen> oh?
<Xandhil> I kinda told him about dad?
<Xandhil> I really want Father to like him, I guess
* Justen nods
<Justen> well... all you can do is explain what you know, I guess, and see how he takes it.
<Xandhil> yeah
<Xandhil> I'm going to talk to dad first.
<Xandhil> he'll know better
<Justen> that seems like a good idea
* Xandhil nods and snuggles
* Justen kisses your forehead
<DiablotinNarrator> Your snuggles are interrupted by a sudden rush of heat and the presence of someone else in your tent. This time he's not 12 feet tall and on fire, but you are fairly sure you recognize him even so.
<Xandhil> ...
* Anxikaril is now known as Efreet
<Efreet> (going with that for a name since we don't know his anymore ;)
<Xandhil> (okay)
<Efreet> I apologize for the interruption.
<Xandhil> hello?
* Xandhil sits up
<Efreet> but I believe I owe you a debt of gratitude.
* Efreet says, looking at Justen
<Justen> Me?
<Efreet> both of you - but you in particular, I think.
* Justen sits up too
<Justen> Are you ... all right now?
<Efreet> I appreciate the concern - I am very well, thank you.
<Efreet> Better than I've been in ages.
<Xandhil> I bet...
<Justen> Okay, that's good...
* Justen still seems a little nervous about this unexpected visit
<Efreet> I don't mean you any harm. The opposite, in fact.
<Efreet> I departed so hastily, I didn't have the chance to thank you.
<Justen> Well.. you're welcome. I only did what seemed ... just.
* Efreet nods
<Efreet> In return, there is something I can offer each of you.
<Efreet> It is within my power to grant a wish.
<Xandhil> ...
<Efreet> I would give this to each of you, as my thanks
<Justen> anything?
* Justen seems a bit stunned
<Efreet> anything that is within my power to grant. I cannot reshape time - go back and change the far past, for instance.
<Justen> right...
<Xandhil> ...
* Justen looks at you
<Xandhil> do we have to choose now?
<Efreet> I cannot stay for very long... but a short pause might be possible.
* Efreet sits himself down in your tent, making himself more comfortable
<Justen> can we talk about it with each other too?
<Efreet> certainly, by all means
* Justen turns to you
<Justen> I know you've said sometimes before you'd like to be able to do what your parents can.. to talk to each other like that.
<Xandhil> I....did you have any ideas?
<Justen> would that be worth it?
<Xandhil> oh.
<Xandhil> hmm
* Efreet waits patiently for your decisions ^-^
<Xandhil> I think so
<Justen> All right.
* Justen figures this is one of those things where he needs to get the wording right, so considers his words carefully
<Justen> I wish that Xandhil and I could speak to one another telepathically whenever either of us wants.
* Justen hopes that was right @_@
<Efreet> Let it be so.
<Justen> :........hello?:
* Justen tries
<Xandhil> thanks you
<Xandhil> :hello!:
* Xandhil grins
<Justen> :holy shit it works!"
<Justen> :I love you:
<Xandhil> :I love you too!:
<Xandhil> That's really neat :D
