Pi-ouessa Paakai

Pi-ouessa (211-299), whose name is sometimes transcribed as Pivesa Pekai, was a tribal elder and reckoner in The Ghengom during the earliest years after the founding of Nemnosti. During the first years of the ulajeta, Pi-ouessa was perhaps the most vigilant defender of her faith (she was a follower of the Old Folk, along with almost all the Paakai) and of the rights of the tribes that would become the Ravre against Imperial invasion. Over time, though, she and Nemnu Ula came to an understanding, and she converted to the Corps and eventually, became the first Ravre interred at Nemnosti after her death. Pi-ouessa was a native speaker of Riabhra, one of the dialects of the old Ravre tongue, but spoke numerous languages fluently, including Ombesh. As such, she is one of the major sources for scholars of the now-extinct languages of the Ghengom. The Pekai lineage of Akapa Sogo claims her as one of their most honoured ancestors.
