Couramance’s father, the Duke of Brissarthe. His wife died many years ago, and the Duke has never remarried. The marketplace gossips say that this is because he loved his wife beyond all reason, and could never replace her. The gossip at The Likely Lord’s has a rather different story. Apparently his bodyguard, Venance Alcaraz, occasionally comes in and picks up men there, but the general opinion is that they are not for him, but for his boss.
