Loch stands 5' 6" and is proportionally built. His hair is a mess of short cropped straw blond hair, eyes a deep blue, and a well-tanned complexion. It is easy to spot Loch as a working man. His clothing tends to be simple but sturdy. He is a quiet and practical man, which is a contrast to his specialization in sorcery of evocation.

Important events in Loch's life:

   * Grew up on the du Champe farm, in the small village of Flatwood
   * Discovered his magical talent at the age of 14 when he met his familiar, the hedgehog Willam.
   * Moved to the city and studied at the Castalia for 10 years before graduating
   * Joined the City Guard shortly afterward under the advice of one of his professors, Marzel Gallion
   * Married to Jenai Koval, who bore him twin boys, Alexior and Velten
