List of templates

Purpose

A template can be used to quickly insert the same block text into multiple articles. For example, for all characters played by me, I could add a { { balthcat } } template to automatically add "Player: [User:BalthCat|BalthCat]" to the article. (Remove the spaces between braces).

I have created a number of templates to automatically mark articles as stubs. I have further created templates to mark articles as belonging to particular games, or to mark PCs and games, etc. Below is a list of those templates.

All templates

The current location of the list of all templates is here, while we are hosted at centos.tfenet.com

General Use

  • game: Games
  • pc: Characters
  • npc: NPCs
  • retired: Retired games
  • ooc: OOC information
  • tidy: Similarly to stubs, this marks an article as in need of being tidied up/wikified.
  • fiction: Writing involving characters and/or set in a game world.
    • drabble: Short fiction as above.
  • out: To flag a small section as outdated based on the "current" state of affairs in the setting.
  • trash: Flags an article for deletion

Layout helpers

  • tocright: Moves the table of contents to the right hand side, and allows text to start immediately.
  • subst:session: Prefills an empty session page with headers, and already includes toclog. The first session uses subst:firstsession.
    • toclog: Generally a sub-template of session, this template includes tocright, and already includes logbox. The first session uses firsttoclog, however manual use shouldn't be needed after subst:firstsession.
    • logbox: Generally a sub-template of toclog, this template creates the navigation box. If toclog is not desired for whatever reason, logbox can still be used on its own. The first session uses firstlogbox, however manual use shouldn't be needed after subst:firstsession.
