In 2247, [[Cornelia Nash|The Warlord]] made a bid to take control of the organization since her appointment, as she didn't like the idea of operatives acting beyond the reach, and outside of the control of, the government.  This caused a rift in the Hush, and it wasn't always clear who is on which side.  This was resolved by the removal of Nash from her position, the appointment of [[Martan]] Olivier as head of a reunified force in 2248.
